In this fourth lesson on Evaluating Astromagical Elections – Aspects of the Moon, we more closely examine the contrasts between the General Aspect Doctrine (GAD) and the Picatrix Aspect Doctrine (PAD). A deep dive into the places of overlap and divergence between GAD and PAD help set us up to then understand some contemporary terminology around so-called Renaissance rules and medieval rules of astrological magic. We try to emphasize that different assumptions, worldviews, and prioritization of texts can lead to different models of astrological magic. This adds somewhat unfortunate but necessary nuance and complexity to evaluating astromagical elections when it comes to aspects of the Moon.
