The IC: An Astrology of Coming Home is a book on belonging, a depth exploration to our “deepest heavens,” the Imum Coeli, the bottom of the chart.
Supported by sixteen in-depth client case stories and Pallas’ years of research and writing on astrology, ecology, grief, magic, disability, queerness, settler colonialism, psychology, and literary theory, The IC offers a contemporary perspective on an ancient place.
“The IC is going to change the sacred texts available in our field in a way that matters to people interested in shared values, not just delineation.”
– Ariana Felix, Writer & Astrologer
Review of The IC from Gaby, Case Story Participant:
“Throughout this book, Pallas serves as the guide to the underbelly that is the IC. They seamlessly weave storytelling and technique, as we are taken from the clarity and exuberance of the upper chart and make our slow descent towards the deeper waters where the IC is housed. We are guided on how to work with the IC, ours and those of our community, and we are reminded time and time again of the sensitiveness and vulnerability of the lowest point in our charts, not to see it as a weakness but to learn to respect and revere it for its inherent softness.
By the time we enter the sixteen stories housed in the book, we are able to sit with them in stillness. Honoring the weight present in many of the stories, Pallas creates the necessary space to hold each story. Whether through mentions of transits to the charts, tidbits from their interviews, or snippets of their creative work, each story unfolds magically. I know that every astrologer, no matter their level of studies, will benefit immensely from this book. More than being a list of cookie-cutter delineations, this book presents the IC as the heartbeat of the chart. It shows us our inherent humanity and our ability to relate to others (people, plants, land, animals) to their core.
I look back at the immense growth I have experienced these past few years and what I have been able to give back to my land, ancestors, and community, and it was possible thanks to Pallas holding space for me. It is my sincere wish for others to experience the same, and I know that this book will be a wonderful guide to those looking for one.”
The IC: An Astrology of Coming Home is a story of Pallas’ relational approach to astrology, informed by their client consultation work and their own IC journey, and a resource offering ways to investigate and support magical, healing, and ancestral practices through an astrological understanding and deeper relationship with the IC.
This beloved journey to our deepest heavens is a potent resource for professional consulting astrologers and intermediate-advanced astrology enthusiasts looking to explore the depths with technical rigour and a relational ethos. Featuring sixteen in-depth client case stories, method chapters, a workbook to explore the IC signature, and Pallas’ poetic manifesto, ‘Toward A Relational Astrology’, The IC is a much-needed guide to this often overlooked point in the chart.
Reading the book is a pilgrimage in itself, a contemplation of relationship, an exploration of the depths we share, and the places we belong together.
What others are saying: “The IC is vastly under-addressed in astrological texts while simultaneously being one of the most tender and revelatory parts of the chart.
The bone-close intimacy called forth by heaven’s root requires dexterous, sensitive, compassionate, and wise handling — and that is exactly why Pallas is the perfect astrologer to create an offering like this.
The IC: An Astrology of Coming Homedoes not pretend to have easy answers, for to pretend to such would be disingenuous at best and outright falsehood at worst; instead, it interweaves story, technique, and a vehement respect for the raw edge of mortal incarnation into a bittersweet love song.
It is a blessing to witness this book come into being.”
– Diana Rose Harper, Writer & Astrologer

Who is The IC for?
- You’re an astrology enthusiast who has heard about the IC is and you want more
- You are a professional astrologer looking to expand your consulting and technical skills to the subterranean
- You are a fan of Pallas’ ecological, relational approach to astrology and writing and want 95,000 words of it to enjoy
The IC is not a beginner astrology book. But even a brave non-astrologer will find depth in its pages.
Part narrative, part interview, and part (sometimes advanced) delineation, The IC is as curious about house rulerships, profections, the Saturn cycle, secondary progressions, retrograde periods, eclipses, essential dignity, as it is about:
- Spirit journeys
- Legacies of displacement
- Companion animals
- Inner child healing
- Astrological magic
- Altar tending
- Island pilgrimage
- Familial estrangement
- Zine making
- Temple Mediums
- Adult adoption
- Labour movement organizing
- Lamentation practices
- Psychedelic therapy
- Suicidal ideation
- Ancestral lineage healing
- Wild gardening
- Language learning
- Community mediation process
- Queer kin-making
All case stories are from Pallas’ client work from 2015-2022, so reflect Pallas’ own astrological practice. Everyone is pre-Uranus opposition, with birth dates spanning 1980-1997. The majority are queer. Half are trans and non-binary. About half are white. Many are not born in the so-called US/Canada. A couple live internationally. Each case story participated in a follow-up interview and each draft went through a process of review by the participant.
From Pallas, writer, astrologer, and co-founder of Idola Stellarum: “As the writer of The IC, I consider myself a steward and a witness. These stories are not my own. The ideas in the book don’t belong to me, but have found a home in me, and through my particular position, education, ethics, and practices, they have found a way out into the world.”
What others are saying: “Pallas is at the forefront of guiding our diverse astrological lineages into the present moment, synthesizing the essential, foundational aspects of our living tradition with the needs of our world today.
Pallas is skilled in traditional astrological techniques and theory as well as steeped in psychological approaches to astrology developed within the twentieth century.
Fitting for the subject of their book on the Imum Coeli, they also have a robust ancestral practice and have experience wedding the complexity and nuance of astrology with ancestral relations.
Crucially, Pallas has chosen to focus their case studies on clients from diverse experiences, born between the years of 1980 and 1997.
Their book on the IC is a much needed addition to astrological literature for anyone desiring to counsel and guide contemporary people through the ancient art of astrology.”
– Gray Crawford, Writer & Astrologer
The book:
The IC was successfully crowdfunded in April-May 2022. Originally intended as a small resource text that would be ready to print in a few months, the book expanded in proportion to the spaciousness the stories wanted to be told.
After intensive writing, revision, and design processes, the First Kickstarter Edition artbook version of The IC, illustrated by Hugh Tran, went to the printers in September 2024. 500/700 copies went to the Backers of the original Kickstarter and the extra 200 copies sold out with twenty-four hours after going on sale in November 2024.
The Second Edition, available beginning April 2025, has been redesigned for affordability, accessibility, and coherence between the ebook and print versions. With a new cover and new charts in both versions, the print edition also features a new ten-page index to support your own research.
