A public release may follow if any talismans remain after these releases.

NOTE: Out of prudence and care for our customers, the Sun in Aries Golden Sovereign talismans will ship on April 9, after the eclipses have past.

Step into your Sovereignty

Mundane astrologers have forecasted a difficult year. With major shifts of the outer planets as well as multiple pileup stelliums this year, the pressure is surely going to build and threaten to bend or even break. The beginning of the year had many good moments, however, giving us some time to prepare.

The Sovereign collection is our contribution to this preparation. Featuring two talismans designed to impart a variety of positive effects and useful graces, we aimed for general purpose goodness that most if not all could stand to benefit from.

Sovereignty implies power, authority, and autonomy. When we hold sovereignty, we have the capacity to live according to our ideals, exercise our plans, and follow our dreams without the yoke of external limitations.

The Sovereign in right relationship, however, is not an isolated individual wielding power indiscriminately, but the head and executor of a collective. Wielding power and authority in the service of a greater good, in the service of connection and ecological stability, rather than extractive self-interest, is what separates the beloved Sovereign from the petty tyrant.

The talismans in this collection each aim to resource you in a variety of positive, life-affirming ways so that you can step into your own radiant sunbeam of Sovereign potency.

The Sun in Aries Golden Sovereign talismans put the sparkle of the resplendent solar rays in your hands, opening avenues of success, wealth, health, honor, and more. As the primary Sovereign of the daytime sky, the Sun is the ultimate life giver and generously bestows warmth and light upon all. You, too, can join in that powerful and generous spirit.

The Venus in Taurus Abundant Grace talismans bestow the lush beauty of the Lesser Benefic, resourcing us with favor, felicity, and fortune. The Sovereign Stars

This collection in some ways represents a divergence from our original aims at Idola Stellarum. Over a year before the Sovereign collection, as we were designing our first collection of astromagical talismanic jewelry, Sanctuary, we had a specific framework in mind. We developed a loose idea of featuring four talismans in each collection: two planetary talismans (featuring a benefic and/or a luminary, interspersed with the occasional talisman of the malefic planets), one fixed star talisman, and one lunar mansion talisman.

That ideal broke down pretty quickly.

What we encountered, and what should not have surprised us, is that the talismans have their own ideas about how and with whom they want to debut to the world. Our previous collection Spark in particular showed a significant departure from our scripted idea, featuring three fixed star talismans. Now, with Sovereign, we feature just two planetary talismans: one luminary and one benefic. 

One original idea that we floated for Idola Stellarum was that we, as mages, would decenter ourselves and rarely bring ourselves or our personalities into the equation. Like the pythia of the Oracle at Delphi, something rang true about remaining relatively anonymous and giving the talismans and the temple center stage. Ultimately, that ran against our values of transparency and relationship, but what felt true and remains true is that we prioritize spirit, and spirit has its own agenda.

Ultimately, the celestial intelligences and the talismanic spirits that serve them are Sovereign in ways that we can only begin to understand. Over time as we sink more deeply into the responsibility of serving as vessels and emissaries for these wondrous powers, we relinquish our narrow ideas of how we and the world ought to be and step into the masterpiece that is the harmony of the World Soul operating through all things.

Both the Golden Sovereign and Abundant Grace talismans were created during elections closely corresponding to our inaugural launch of our first collection, Sanctuary. These talismans therefore represent the one year anniversary of Idola Stellarum, and those who adopt one of the Sovereign talismans will hold and resonate with the success and splendor of those times.

Note that all astrological talismans by their time-sensitive nature are extremely limited edition. Only a relatively small number of each specific talisman we release will ever be available. Once they are gone, they are gone.

Idola Stellarum Puts the Stars in your Hands

By putting you in relationship with the powerful spirits who peer into the sublunary realm through these talismans, we hope you will be better equipped to face a strange, shifting, and at times terrifying world in which, too often, injustice reigns and corruption prevails. With institutions under siege (some rightfully so) and social contracts disintegrating at the expense of the most oppressed among us, we have to rely on each other. Thankfully, our interdependent networks of care can include celestial angels, too.

The spirits who guide Idola Stellarum know that if we can begin to equip each other with deep and consequential magic, we can begin to make the types of changes that many of us were told as children were possible, and reach toward the dreams which we knew could come true, but which remain withheld by those who hold structural and institutional power. To that end, we provide extensive information on our talismans, because we believe in making the tradition of astrological magic more accessible and allowing people to step into talismanic relationships equipped with the knowledge they need.

On each product page, we offer photographs and a narrative description of the talisman series before showcasing the electional chart (with a precise time range specifying the beginning and end of the ritual window) and discussing the essential features of the election, further magical factors of the election, and reflections on weaknesses of the election. We include ceremonial details of petitions, altars, suffumigations, and, of course, the talismans themselves.  

Sanctifying Relationships

In building Idola Stellarum, and in thinking about the Sovereign collection, we aimed to not only put people in relationship with talismanic spirits, but to offer an experience of coming into connection. We, as beings of the sublunary realm, rely on our visceral and tactile senses, and so Idola Stellarum set our intention to usher in an experience of quality that would appeal to the aesthetics of body and spirit alike.

To this end, each Idola Stellarum talisman will include: a foil-stamped black velvet jewelry box for safe keeping and display; a detailed writeup about the nature of the talisman, the circumstances and rituals of its creation, and guidance on how to introduce yourself to the talismanic spirit; and a certificate of authenticity signed by Rain & Pallas. All talismanic jewelry in the Sovereign collection has been set in high quality metal settings. All pendant settings in the Sovereign collection are either sterling silver or gold-plated sterling silver. Each pendant talisman includes a matching sterling silver or gold-plated sterling silver rope chain in your choice of length. The rings are set in gold-filled fancy bands.

We take our role as mages and mediators of the celestial spirits very seriously, and we stand by our work and the relationships we build, tend, and foster. To this end, each Idola Stellarum talisman is backed by a number of guarantees, which we encourage you to look over, as well as transparency about what we are not able to guarantee.
